Section 8 Housing Information

Section 8 housing refers to the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Qualifying families search for a safe, affordable apartment or home that meets health and safety standards established by HUD. The Housing Authority works with the tenant and the landlord and provides a monthly subsidy to the landlord to ensure the rental unit is affordable. Some Section 8 participants may also qualify for support directly for utility costs based on their income. Section 8 funding may also be used to help qualifying participants with the purchase of a home.
